During CISV Spring Camp 2003, a speaker from CODE spoke to the campers about Project Love , a project that gives classrooms and other youth groups an opportunity to send educational materials to students and teachers in developing countries in Africa. -

Inter Pares (432)
Inter Pares promotes international social justice in developing countries. During CISV Spring Camp 2002, a guest speaker from Inter Pares spoke to the campers about the oppressive regime in Myannmar (formerly Burma) that severely restricts freedom of speech. -
Young Canadian Leadership Challenge (404)
The Young Canadian Leadership Challenge is weekend-long event for youth that uses outdoor challenge-based learning. It is currently offered to youth in the Ottawa area who are 10-19 years old.

SalvAide (396)
An Ottawa-based charity, SalvAide brings Canadians and Salvadorans together to foster social and economic development in El Salvador. In 2002, a group of 13 Ottawa youth went to El Salvador with SalvAide for 3 weeks to participate in rural development projects. The leader and two of the youth have also been active CISVers. Canadian Friends of Sierra Leone (379)
During Winter Camp 2003/04, a team of facilitators from Canadian Friends of Sierra Leone spent the afternoon explaining the effects of the civil war in Sierra Leone and leading the group in exercises that explored degrees of conflict, conflict resolution, and communication skills. -

Every spring CISV holds a social event, known as Silly Chili. Following a potluck chili supper, there are presentations by delegations travelling in July and there are often special guests as well. In 2004, we enjoyed a cultural performance of Inuit drumming and songs. One of the young performers has also been involved in CISV programs.
